Basic Document Required

 
  • Passport should be valid, minimum for 6 months after the expiry of the proposed visa.
 
Tourism Visa - Documents Required
 
  • Passport with validity of more than six months.
  • 2 Visa application forms duly filled in and signed - Photocopy can be used.
  • 2 Recent passport size colour photographs with a light background to be glued on the appropriate place on the visa application form.
  • Covering letter from the applicant on company's letter head stating his name, designation, purpose and duration of visit.
  • Sufficient Foreign Exchange for stay.
  • Detailed Tour Itinerary.
  • Confirmed Return Air Ticket.
  • Forex endorsement with original forex receipts or original International Credit card with statements.
  • If sponsored by a Mauritian citizen, then letter from sponsor stating name, address and relationship is required.
 
NOTES 1
 
  • Indian Nationals do not need a visa to enter and stay in Mauritius for 15 days. Provided the applicant satisfies the following conditions:-
  • Hold a valid passport
  • Have a valid confirmed return ticket to travel back to their country of origin/residence
  • Have confirmed booking for accommodation
  • Have evidence of sufficient funds i.e. US$50 per day
  • Are eligible to re-enter their country of origin/residence
  • Do not engage in any gainful activities.
  • But for more than 15 days stay duration, Applicant has to apply for a visa in prior through the normal existing procedure
 
NOTES 2
 
  • Passengers coming to Mauritius other than for the purpose of tourism, visits or business, should obtain prior authority from the Passport and Immigration Office before undertaking any travel to Mauritius.
  • Any person who wishes to seek employment or to engage in any gainful occupation in Mauritius will not be allowed to enter Mauritius unless he is the holder of a valid residence permit and a work permit issued by the Mauritius Authorities.
  • Any person who stays in Mauritius after the expiry of the period for which he obtained a visa or entry permit as the case may be, shall commit an offence and is liable for prosecution by a Court of Law.
  • Visitors/Tourists may be granted a permit to stay in Mauritius for a period not exceeding six months in a calendar year and up to 90 days in a calendar year to non-citizens travelling to Mauritius for purpose of business without remuneration, provided they meet the immigration requirements.
  • Non citizens travelling to Mauritius as tourists/visitors will not be issued any permits or extension of visas to follow studies/training courses.Prospective students are advised to travel to Mauritius only after their application for study/training in Mauritius would have been approved.
  • The Final decision to admit a passenger into Mauritius rests solely on the Immigration Authorities after examination at the points of entry.
 
Business Visa - Documents Required
 
  • Passport with validity of more than six months.
  • 2 Visa application forms duly filled in and signed - Photocopy can be used.

  • Covering letter from the applicant on company's letter head stating his name, designation, purpose and duration of visit.
  • Sufficient Foreign Exchange for stay.

  • Confirmed Return Air Ticket.
  • Forex endorsement with original Forex receipts or original International Credit card with statements.
  • If sponsored by a Mauritian citizen, then letter from sponsor stating name, address and relationship is required.
  • A covering letter from the local firm / company recommending travel stating the designation of the applicant and a letter of Invitation from business counterparts clearly stating the nature of business and duration of stay in Mauritius.
  • For certain businesses, work permit for the corresponding period may also be required.
