Basic Document Required

 
  • Passport should be valid, minimum for 6 months after the expiry of the proposed visa.
 
Tourism Visa - Documents Required
 
Passport
 
  • The passport should be undamaged and should have a validity of 3 months from the date of return back to India. 2 adjoining pages should be blank for visa stamping. Attach all the old passports, if possible.
 
Proof of Residence
 
  • If the city where the traveler resides differs from the city from where the passport was issued:
  • Proof of residence from your employer on the letter head of the company AND
  • Telephone and electricity bills for the current last 3 months. AND
  • Purchase or leave license lease agreement and bank statements for the last 3 months.
 
Photographs
 
  • 2 recent, studio made, undamaged, semi-matt, sized 35mm x 45mm color photographs, with front view on a white background, without borders. The face should cover 80% of the photograph.
  • Avoid wearing light color shirt/ top in order to have better and clear picture
 
Covering Letter
 
  • A typewritten letter from you, addressed to the concern Consular office, giving details and purpose of your visit, duration of stay and financial status.
  • Confirmation of Accommodation:
  • Hotel confirmation of the applicant's stayed with exact check -in and check-out dates.
  • Financial Documents - Personal:
  • Bank Statements from the past 6 months, Income Tax papers from the past 3 years, foreign exchange endorsed on the passport or copy of the applicant's international credit card and proof of any other sources of income.
 
Employment Proof if salaried
 
  • A leave letter or N.O.C letter on the letterhead of the company or organization confirmation that the traveler is an employee of the organization and has been granted leave for the mentioned period.
  • Copies of salary slip for the last three months.
  • For first time traveler, copies of the applicant's appointment letter and salary slip for the last three months.
  • For recently joined employee, copies of the applicant's appointment letter and salary slip for the last three months if possible.
 
Company's Documents if self employed
 
  • Balance sheet for the last 1 year and Income Tax returns for the last 3 years.
  • Company profile and brochures.
  • Memorandum and Articles of Association or Certificate of Incorporation.
 
No Objection Certificate:
 
  • A No Objection letter from the non-traveling parent is required if the child below the age of 18 is traveling with single parent.
  • For recently married women, a No Objection from either parent mentioning the details of the trip is required.
  • If a traveler who is traveling alone and is been sponsor by their spouse or parents, a No Objection letter for the same mentioning the details of the trip is required from the concern person.
  • If traveling with children, a bonafide certificate from the school/college or university is required.
  • If traveling with children, a No Objection letter from the school/college or university is required.
  • Overseas Insurance:
  • Overseas travel insurance policy covering the duration of stay, showing a minimum insurance of EURO 30,000 is required. Evacuation and Repatriation clause should be mentioned in the same.
  • Air Tickets:
  • Confirmed return or onward air ticket along with detailed day to day itinerary should be attached along with the application.
 
NOTES
 
  • The Visa Office may request additional documents and/or information before issuing a visa (e.g. Travel insurance which includes the health insurance), therefore, always include your home or office telephone number with your application.
  • No visa will be issued on additional pages.
  • Children must travel on their individual passports.
  • Each application must be supported by a copy of the requisite documents. If you have received a fax you must photocopy the same and attach it to your application.
  • If you have been to France several times then you can apply for one-year visa. Please provide a medical insurance policy for one year. The passport must be valid accordingly.
  • Further, any change in fees, additional document or personal presence of the applicant might be required which is on the discretion of the embassy.
  • For applicants from IT sector traveling for more than 30 days up to 90 days, the host organization has to get a clearance from the DDTEFP department of the French ministry in France.
  • W.E.F. 01/11/2006 all applicants except first time traveler (travelling first time to a Schengen country) while applying for a French visa will be required to fill visa insurance undertaking form in addition to the visa application form7.
  • W.e.f. 03rd July, 2006 the applications residing in areas which falls under the jurisdiction of Embassy of France, New Delhi can also submit their visa applications at the France Application Center Kolkata without appointment.
  • With effect from 14th November 2006, France will set up the capture of biometric data (fingerprints and photograph) of visa applicants in the Consulate General of France in Mumbai.
